Metamorphosis: A group practice aimed at promoting transformation & growth

After 20 years of clinical experience, creating Metamorphosis Psychology & Counselling feels like a natural evolution of my work as a psychotherapist, supervisor, and trainer.

Throughout my career, I have witnessed one consistent truth: human beings have an extraordinary capacity to heal and grow when met with empathy, safety, and skilled support.

The word metamorphosis comes from the Greek for “change of form or nature into a completely different one.” In therapy, it reflects the deep inner shifts that occur when individuals move from pain toward resilience, from self-doubt toward self-understanding, and from survival toward meaningful living.

It is with great pleaure and pride that I have created a group practice grounded in humanistic principles, inspired by the work of Carl Rogers, and Irvin Yalom, as well as the mentorship of colleagues who developed Emotion-focused therapy – in particular, Leslie Greenberg, Robert Elliott, and Rhonda Goldman.

Alongside this foundation, we integrate evidence-based approaches influenced by trauma-informed principles articulated by Laura Brown—recognizing the pervasive impact of trauma and prioritizing safety, empowerment, and collaboration in all aspects of care.

We take a feminist perspective, which invites us to understand distress within its broader social, cultural, and systemic contexts. This perspective strengthens our commitment to equity, voice, and client empowerment, ensuring that therapy is not only healing, but also liberating.

Finally, Metamorphosis is about a commitment to mentoring the next generation of counsellors. As the founder and clinical director of this collective, I am dedicated to training reflective, ethical, and emotionally attuned clinicians who work relationally while drawing from diverse, research-informed methods.

There is something profoundly meaningful about witnessing transformation: seeing someone reclaim their voice, grieve what was lost, set boundaries, or rediscover hope. Healing does not erase pain—it reshapes it into strength and transforms it into something bigger. I am passionate about my work because it noursihes me. It allows me to witness growth and transformation firsthand—and this is what I wish for all human beings: the opportunity to heal, to evolve, and to step fully into their potential. In other words, to metamorphose.
